Section 3-10. Qualification for Membership and Affiliate Membership Status

Applications for membership and affiliate status shall be addressed to the Executive accompanied by evidence that the applicant meets the criteria of the membership class for which applying. The Association Manager shall examine the application and make a determination whether or not the applicant has qualified under the guidelines established by the Board of Directors. Any rejection of an application must be made by the Executive Committee. The application for membership/affiliate status shall be filed at the time and in the form specified by the Association Manager.
In determining whether a designated member fulfills and can continue to fulfill the obligations of membership, the controlling issue is the status of the member with a state agency.

Section 3-12. Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated if members’ appraiser license or certification status is revoked.
The Board of Directors may suspend or expel a member for a violation of USPAP or the Association Code of Professional Conduct upon an affirmative vote of a majority of the Review Panel.
The Association Manager may automatically terminate a member for nonpayment of membership dues.

Designated Member - $125.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) An individual who holds an appraisal license, certification or similar appraisal credential issued by a governmental agency; and who accepts the membership requirements and objectives of the National Association of Appraisers. If an applicant for membership works in a discipline in which credentials are not issued by a governmental agency, membership may be granted upon submission of alternative information to demonstrate qualifications. Acceptability of such alternative information shall be determined by the Executive Committee. Designated members are Members of the National Association of Appraisers (MNAA).

Most NAA designated members are verified from the Appraisal Subcommittee Registry. If you are not a state certified appraiser, please provide copies of your:
• The current 7-hr. National USPAP Course Completion Certificate
• Appraisal Related Association Membership Certificate(s)
• Relevant Education Certificates

Associate Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) An individual who is pursuing, or is interested in pursuing, a career in appraisal (commonly known as Appraiser in Training) but who has not met the qualifications of Designated Member. Associate Members may serve on committees but are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.

Board of Governors - $500.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) A state or national organization representing professional appraisers; properly formed and recognized as active by their appropriate Secretary of State or the U. S. Internal Revenue Service; and who accepts the membership requirements and objectives of the National Association of Appraisers on behalf of their membership.

Academic Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) An individual who is actively involved in the presentation of valuation educational programs or the writing of valuation publications.

Sponsor Member - $250.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) This category is open to organizations providing appraisal services and having interest in real estate and appraisal and who support the objectives of NAA.

Individual Affiliate Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) An individual who may not be engaged in the appraisal profession but has interests in appraising, and is in agreement with the objectives of the NAA. Individual Affiliate Members are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.

Industry Affiliate Member - $200.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) Appraisal Companies, Appraisal Management Companies and Mortgage Lenders. Industry Affiliate Members are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.

Designated Member - Special - $99.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments)
